When undergoing surrogacy in Kazakhstan, the surrogate mother lives in her own home. If agreed upon beforehand with the surrogate mother, intended parents can rent an apartment for her near the clinic, and the surrogate mother will live there with her family during the pregnancy. After the 26th week of pregnancy, the surrogate mother will move to an apartment near the maternity hospital.
Our staff will supervise the surrogate mother throughout her pregnancy to ensure that she takes good care of the pregnancy and follows the instructions of her attending physician.
At no stage of the process does the surrogate mother have parental rights over the child!
In Kazakhstan, the law is clear, stating that the pre-birth rights of the child belong to the intended parents.
The surrogate mother’s participation in this process is primarily for financial compensation. The surrogate mother receives her final payment only after the baby is registered at the foreign embassy and travel documents are issued in the baby’s name.
It typically takes 2-6 weeks from the baby’s discharge to the parents’ departure from Kazakhstan (depending on the parents’ nationality and their embassy’s requirements for the baby’s passport).
The surrogate mother receives her compensation after handing the baby over to the intended parents and the baby is registered at the foreign embassy. During the surrogate mother’s pregnancy, in addition to the final compensation, the intended parents also pay the surrogate mother a monthly “allowance.”
The intended parents apply for citizenship at their nearest embassy and then apply for a passport for the baby.
At the airport, officials will check that the newborn (now a citizen of the parents’ country) has:
• A valid passport;
• No restrictions on leaving the country;
If the baby meets these requirements, he/she can leave Kazakhstan. There is no need for an exit visa.
